ORGANISERS

Flood relief workcamps 2014 are supported through the programme "Youth Rules" by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Serbia.

About Young Researches of Serbia – Voluntary Service of Serbia:
Young Researchers of Serbia (YRS) is a youth, non-governmental, non-profit organization that gathers young people interested in research and science. YRS was officially established in 1976 as a network of organizations, societies, clubs and sections with research programs, gathered around the coordinative office on the republic level in Belgrade. Through its history the number of members changed, but there were over 50 different organizations taking part. Today YRS represents the organization on the national level and is unites three thematically different but interconnected sectors – Youth Sector, Voluntary Service of Serbia and Environmental Protection and Conservation Sector.

Think BIG, do little – start an avalanche!  is our motto

For 37 years we have been gathering young people round our research projects, voluntary camps, educational programs and environmental campaigns, thus stimulating scientific creativity of young people and motivating them for voluntary work, environmental protection and nature conservation.

The most common forms of our activities are: work camps, schools, actions, expeditions, seminars, expert conferences and campaigns.

International workcamps - are organized by Voluntary Service Serbia, a part of YRS, which is a member of  international networks of organizations for coordination and preparation of international voluntary workcamps and exchange of participants all over the world. Young Researchers of Serbia are organizing around 25 international workcamps in Serbia every year. At the same time volunteers from our country have at their disposal more than 2000 work camps worldwide.

YRS - VSS is in charge of the national and international placement of volunteers in flood relief workcamps, as well as the co-organisation of workcamps together with the local organisers.
